URGENT NEWS --- Thursday, July 2, 2009 .....2:34pm.......Edwards Tot Tball will be played as scheduled. T/TH Rookie games have been MOVED! The games will be played at COVE FIELD, same times. 12U Majors - 5:00pm Stonehouse game is to be played at Lakefront Field. The 6:00pm game at Lakefront will be played at 7:00pm. The 7:000pm game at Stone House has been postponed. All home Emerald Necklace games have been cancelled. Soccer fundamentals will be played as scheduled. Adult Softball games at Usher Field will be played as scheduled. Games at Memorial #1 have been moved to Memorial #2. All other games have been cancelled. Adult Kickball games will be played as scheduled. --- Any Recreation teams interested in marching in the Lakewood 4th of July Parade? If so, contact the Recreation Department for more details. --- Rock On! campers should report to Lakewood Park bandstand at 7:15pm on Saturday, July 4th. SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS

Lakewood Recreation has partnered with the LHS Athletic Department to offer a series of summer youth athletic camps. Join the Ranger coaching staff and players from various sports for these exciting opportunities, which will focus on fundamentals and FUN!

SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUES

SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUES Lakewood Recreation will be hosting summer leagues run by Phil Argento, Lakewood High School Varsity Boys Head Basketball Coach, and his staff. The leagues will be open to Lakewood residents and non-residents. You may register as a complete team (no more than 8 except Varsity and JV), a partial team or as an individual. The Recreation Department will place individual registration to form complete teams.

Lakewood Recreation is excited to introduce Bill Dubusker USPTA as the new Tennis Director for the Lakewood Recreation Department. "I am thrilled to be helping the Recreation Department revitalize the tennis in Lakewood and will be available to assist residents young and not so young with their tennis experience at any of the parks, although head-quartered at the park on the lake. My family and I have lived in Lakewood for the last 16 years and have watched the tennis at the parks disapate along with the crumbling courts. However thanks to Mayor Fitzgerald and the Lakewood Tennis Commitee the Lakewood Park courts are brand new and ready for play. Over the last 25 years I've taught juniors and adults of all ages and levels of play with one goal in mind, maximizing their playing experience as well as their performance. As a father and coach of local, regional and national players for the last 30 years the troubleshooting skills I've acquired will come in handy for all levels and ages.
