Adult Open Swim Admission Fee: $4.00

Student Open Swim Admission Fee: $3.50

*Children 6 and under are admitted free with a paid swimming adult*

Friday Night Flicks - Dive In Movies

February 5, 2010 and March 19, 2010

7:30pm-10:30pm

FREE to public

Tube Rental: $4/individual, $6/double

 

Movies will be shown in the LHS Pool.  Watch the movie from a tube in the pool or from the pool bleachers.  Tube reservations will be taken in advance.  Any tubes not claimed by 8:00pm will be released.  Refreshments will be available.

March 19 - "Surf's Up"

 

*No outside floatation devices permitted.  Children reserving tubes must be competent swimmers, and subject to swim test before movie begins.  No refreshments permitted in pool.  There will be an intermission/safety break approximately 1 hour into film.

 

 Spring Underwater Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 3, 2010

11:30am-1:00pm

$3.50/student

 

Bring your swimsuits, towels, goggles, and baskets to the pool and see how many eggs you can round up!  Children will be broken up into age appropriate groups for the hunt.  Eggs can be redeemed for prizes after the hunt.  Open Swim session will follow the hunt.

 The OHIO Masters Swim Club offers swim-team style workouts for adults of all ages and abilities.  This group meets at LHS Pool during the fall, winter, and spring and Foster Pool during the summer months.  For fees and more information, consult their website at http://www.ohiomasters.com/.

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 41° North Coastal Kayaking Adventures will be offering several Kayaking courses during the winter/spring of 2009-2010.  Check out their webpage for more information!

 

Cleveland Metroparks IGO will be offering several Kayaking programs during the winter/spring of 2010.  Registration for these programs is held directly through the Cleveland Metroparks IGO office at 216-341-1704.

Kayaking I: Introduction to Kayaking

Feeling cooped up due to the weather?  Join us at Lakewood High School to learn how to kayak!  This class is a combination of classroom and on-the-water practice.  You will be introduced to different types of kayaks, safety equipment and will get in the pool to learn basic paddle strokes.  Participants should be prepared to get wet during the pool session.                                                                 

Ages: 16 and over (with participating adult)

Activity Level: Easy

Kayaking 1.5: Supplemental Skills

This special class is designed as a continuing education branch to our Kayaking 1 course.  Anyone who has completed an IGO Kayaking 1 or Kayaking 2 course in 2009 or 2010 is invited to take this class to learn more advanced paddling strokes, wet exits, rescue techniques, and to practice previously taught skills.  The class will take place at the Lakewood High School Pool, so come prepared to get wet.

LHS Pool General Information

The LHS Pool is a 8 lane, 25 yard main pool, supplemented by a separate diving well with one and three meter diving boards.  The elevated spectator area provides seating for 400 people.  The spacious pool area provides ample room for Learn-To-Swim classes, birthday parties, Scout troop outings, even large swim meets. 

 

 

The LHS Pool is located at the southwest corner of Lakewood High School.   The entrance doors are located under the overhang of the building.  Ample pool parking is located immediately west of the building entrance.
