2012 Fall Youth Football Night at LHS Stadium
This past Friday, October 12th, all the youth football and cheerleading participants were invited by the LHS Varsity Football Coach Ron Lewis to attend a game free of charge to be recognized and to cheer on the LHS Football team against Midview.
All participants from 5-6yr old flag football through the travel 5th/6th LSWFC football team were in attendance. Prior to the start of the game, the future Lakewood Rangers lined up on the field at the north end of the field watching the varsity team warm-up for their game. At the conclusion of warm ups and with the urging of Coach Lewis the players came over to meet and greet the youth football players.
Many of the kids were barely able to contain their excitement when the fully padded players came over, giving high fives and wishing them good luck in their game.
Each team and their head coach was announced over the P.A. system while running to the 50 yard line. Once all team were announced they circled back to form a victory tunnel that the varsity football players passed through while they took the field for the first time.
We want to thank Head Coach Ron Lewis, Athletic Director Bob Thayer and all the other game day staff for making this a memorable night for these future Lakewood Rangers.
