Matt Demaline joined the professional staff of the Lakewood Recreation Department in June of 2007 as the Aquatic Manager. In addition to overseeing the Aquatics programs, Matt maintains the Department's social media outlets. Prior to this, Matt had worked seasonally as the Pool Manager of Foster Pool since 2004, and in a variety of roles as far back as 1996. He credits the Recreation Department and the Lakewood City Schools for fostering his roots in aquatics, having swum competitively for Lakewood Recreation Swim Team and Lakewood High School.
Matt also has aquatics experience working for Baldwin-Wallace College (assistant swim coach), a local country club (aquatics supervisor) and more! He is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College. His goals for the aquatics program are to encourage more participation in both traditional programs (learn-to-swim, swim team, water aerobics, etc) and non-traditional programs (underwater egg hunt, Pumpkin Patch in the Pool, etc), as well as educating the community on how to enjoy the water safely. He is always looking for feedback on the aquatics programs. Matt and his wife Heidi have two children, Ally and Brooklyn, and are proud residents of Lakewood.
