Begins Work to Address Fields & Pools Maintenance

In September of 2021 the Lakewood City Schools Board of Education and the City of Lakewood both approved a partnership agreement that to address fields & pools maintenance

This agreement although centering primarily on the Batting Sport Maintenance and pool renovations, marks a historic officialization of the partnership between the Lakewood Recreation department and City of Lakewood since 1928.

We are excited to announce that we have already begun the process of following through on the updates to Foxx field and Usher field. On Tuesday, September 28, we closed the process of accepting interested architects to design, upgrade and renovate Foxx and Usher fields. 

We received 3 submissions from OSports/Osborn Engineering, Behnke Associates, Inc and ThenDesign Architecture. 

Once selected by the City of Lakewood, the architecture firm will begin the next phase of providing scope of work to be completed via an RFP (request for proposal) for contractors to bid on. 

The City and Schools scheduled on-site meetings with each firm over the last week and will share information as it becomes readily available.
