FREE Training if you work for Lakewood Rec.

Follow the steps below.

Lakewood Recreation Outdoor Pool Lifeguard Hiring Process

All training is provided FREE.  Please contact with any questions.

Here are the steps to working as a lifeguard at Becks Pool or Foster Pool:

1.  Turn in an employment application

2.  You will be contacted to set up an interview.  At your interview, please be prepared to answer questions regarding your availability to work, problem solving skills, compatability to work with others, etc

3.  If you are offered a position, you will be issued employment paperwork.  When you complete this paperwork, you will turn it in with a copy of a photo ID (school ID is fine) and copy of your social security card.

4.  You will be scheduled for training.   Training options include LHS spring break, Easter week, and the first week of summer.  All training is FREE and mandatory.

5.  Once your paperwork is turned in, you will be issued an account on our scheduling app.  You will receive a thirty minute training session on how to indicate when you are available/not available, trade shifts, etc.

6.  You will be issued uniform apparel.

7.  You will attend an orientation at the facility in which you will be working.

8.  You will be scheduled to start working.

While all training is provided FREE, you will not have access to a copy of your lifeguarding certificate until you have worked 80 hours for the rec department.
